At galactIQ we have been teaching Coding & Robotics, and Scratch programming to kids since 2017 in the Netherlands. In these years we created our very own methodology to train primary school teachers in Coding & Robotics. All this unique know-how lives now inside of our home-developped LMS (learning management software) galactiq.app. Our educational method has four pilars:

'A PLANET, A SUBJECT'

We have designed a long-range curricular planning based on different subjects we call ‘planets’. Each planet is like a subject and our students alternate these planets, one per month creating challenging projects and making sure the different programming concepts stick in their minds while having lots of fun. The planets are:

TEACHER FIRST

A kickstart lesson to prepare the lesson and help items all through the episode makes sure the teacher stays always ahead of the class.

MULTI-PLATFORM, MULTI-LANGUAGE

GalactIQ is not reinventing the wheel, we connect our curriculum to the best well-known programming and robotics platforms. Teachers and students learn to program and also learn to use real-life programming tools such as Scratch, Lego WeDo, Lego Mindstorms, Arduino, user web servers, create games on Roblox and so much more.

ADAPTED TO DIFFERENT AGES

Our curriculum is adapted to three age groups: 5 to 6, 7 to 9 and 10 to 13 years of age. This means each one of our students will face different difficulty levels for the topics learned, the challenges, the quizzes... our team of curriculum development is continuously investigating to make sure we deliver great coding and programming lessons to kids whilst keeping our curriculum stem based.
